| 内容記述 | 本稿では，主部内在節文のもつ成立条件の厳しさと豊かな推論による柔軟性という相反する二面性を指摘し，この二面性をどう捉えるべきかについて，内在節文を生み出す動機づけから考察を行った。その中で内在節文の産出は，事態叙述の焦点がシフトすることによる構文の融合を第一の動機づけとするが，それに加え内在節が内容節のように捉えられるというもう一つの動機づけがあることを指摘し，この二つの動機づけという観点から制約と柔軟性という二面性について説明を行った。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | Head Internal Relative Clauses (IHRCs) are known for their very strict conditions to be accepted as grammatical. On the other hand, though, some IHRCs departing from those conditions are accepted with very flexible inference or reasoning. In this paper I explain those two sides of IHRCs contradicting each other in terms of the motivations to generate IHRCs, insisting that IHRCs can be divided into two types and these two differ in the necessary conditions and the degree of the flexibility. | |||||
