| 内容記述 | 本研究では，初年次教育において学生メンターの果たす役割の意義と効果について，関西国際大学の学生メンター制度を事例として明らかにすることを目的としている。検討の結果，次の３点が明らかとなった。第１に，学生メンター制度は，教員，学生メンター・経験者，そして１年生のいずれからも支持されていた。第２に，メンタリングをめぐる現学生メンター・学生メンター経験者２，３，４年生の自己肯定感の割合については，教育学部の方が人間科学部と比べて高かった。第３に，学生メンター制度は関西国際大学の教育理念に十分な誇りを持たせるには至っていない。これらを踏まえ，高校から大学への円滑な移行が達成されるための課題として，学生メンター養成において，教育理念を含む自校教育，エンカウンター並びにアクティブラーニング手法を充実させること，初年次教育の中に読書の要素を取り入れた学生メンター制度を位置づける可能性を探ることを指摘した。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | The purpose of this investigation is to analyze the meaning and effectiveness of the peer mentor system in the first year experience of Kansai University of International Studies (KUIS). Previous studies have examined the ideal point of peer mentor system through the practice of the U.S.A., and introduced the practice at Japanese University. However, these studies have not considered the meaning and effectiveness of peer mentor system through the long period of practice. In this research, the system of peer mentoring of KUIS was considered. Questionnairesfor students, peer mentors, and faculty at KUIS were analyzed. The obtained results are as follows: (1) The peer mentor system is supported by the faculty, peer mentor, students who experienced peer mentor, and freshman; (2) The students of the College of Education exceed the students of the College of Human Science in the rate of self-affirmation about mentoring; and (3) The peer mentor system does not necessarily lead to keeping a pride in the education philosophy of KUIS. |
