In today's changing world, it is necessary to raise children who are able to think independently and in a variety of ways to achieve social sustainability. In this study, we clarify the relationship between the policies indicated in the Kindergarten Education Guidelines announced in 2017 and ESD and SDGs. In addition, in order to examine the ideal way of childcare education, we will use textbooks for childcare courses currently used.Then, I considered how the concept of ESD and SDGs has been incorporated into the current childcare training.\nThe current Kindergarten Education Guidelines contain a statement on sustainable education. It also indicates that education that directly incorporates the concept of ESD will be provided. However, about half of the textbooks used in childcare courses do not describe the word ESD or the concept. A curriculum that incorporates this concept of ESD requires the following in addition to a direct description of ESD:Regarding local events and culture, the background of issues such as declining birthrates and special support needed to raise diverse children. There are no textbooks with all these statements.
