Job search assistance in the author’s special seminar began in December of the students’ sophomore year, with students starting the seminar in their junior year. Students were advised in individual meetings regarding how they should spend spring break with the job hunt in mind. Close to half of the students participated in internships, and students were able to promptly embark on the job hunt. In the special seminar during their junior year, students formulated and implemented a plan for job hunting. They reviewed that plan and then deliberately put it into practice. As a result, most of the seminar students developed a tailored approach to job hunting, and they were soon able to find an acceptable job. However, many of the students devoted all of their energies to job hunting, so they put off preparing their graduation work.
