In this paper, I will explore the social background from which the discourse on "non-religious" or "atheistic" Japanese has been generated. Then, I will examine whether the discourse reflects the realities of Japanese religion or not. Based on that, in order to make comparative studies of Japanese religion and non -Japanese religion more fruitful, I will propose a point of view. Finally, I will touch upon the concept of "diffused religion" in order to understand the contemporary Japanese religion in the broad context of globalization.}, pages = {79--89}, title = {日本宗教の理解に関する覚書}, volume = {5}, year = {2004} }
